Text and the City, a writing practice founded by Journalist and language professional Helen Johnson, produces creative content – in Dutch or English.
Helen is an experienced editor-in-chief and writer of articles in newspapers and magazines. Coordinating and editing written contributions of others holds no secrets from her.
Her native understanding of both languages, combined with her education and experience in Journalism, make Helen a skilled translator from Dutch into English and vice versa.
Her enthusiasm for communication inspired Helen to become a qualified teacher, who gladly tutors Dutch adults in mastering the global Lingua Franca, English.
About Text and the City
Delivering content and language services constructed with creativity, care and integrity, is what Text and the City does best. I’ve been devoted to this goal from 2000 onwards and have since written, edited and translated contributions for numerous print media – and without exception to mutual contentment. See references.
In 2015 I added to my qualifications by obtaining my Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (issued by Cambridge University). This allows me to use my bilingual background and love of communication for the enhancement of other people’s English language skills.
